Symptoms
When you attempt to download a Portable Document Format (.pdf) file, you
may receive the following error message:
Error Locating Object Handler: There is no viewer available for the type
of object you are trying to open. The following information is available
about this object:

Content Type: text/html
Possible location of viewer: Microsoft ActiveX Gallery
Do you want to go to this location to download a viewer for this type of
object?
If you click Yes, your browser is redirected to the following
Microsoft Web site:
http://msdnisv.Microsoft.com/developer/thirdparty
If you use Adobe Acrobat Reader with Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher and you
receive the preceding error when you attempt to open a PDF file, perform the
following steps:
- Close Internet Explorer 5.5.
- Click Start, click Programs, and open Adobe Acrobat
Reader 4.0. or 4.5.
- Click File, click Preferences, and then click General.
- Click to clear the Web Browser Integration check box.
- Close Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Restart Internet Explorer 5.5 and return to the Web page again. This
time you are prompted to open the PDF file.

How to upgrade from standard account to a Professional
Account
- Click on "My Account"
- If you are not already logged in, login using your e-mail and password
- Click on Upgrade to a Professional Account
- Fill in the form with your credit card information and click the Register
button
- Once you upgrade is confirmed you are ready to go.

How to access previously viewed articles?
If you are a regular user and your have registered
- Click on "My Account"
- If you are not already logged in, login using your e-mail and password
- Purchase / Download History
There you will see all the articles you have viewed previously. If you
have purchased them in the past 24 hours, they title will be in BLUE
and there will be no charge for re-accessing the article.
If the title is in RED there will be a
charge.
If you would like to save an article on your computer you may do so for
your personal use by going to your browser's file menu and selecting the
"save as" choice. If you wish to save the PDF version of the
same article to disk click on the icon that looks like a little floppy disk on
the top left portion of the window displaying the PDF file.
If you have a professional account
- Click on "My Account"
- If you are not already logged in, login using your e-mail and password
- Purchase / Download History
There you will see all the articles you have viewed previously. If you
have viewed an article within the past 24 hours, the title will be in BLUE
and there you will not be charged and article credit for re-accessing the
article.
If the title is in RED clicking clicking
on the title and accessing the article will count as one article credit
against your monthly allowance articles. You can determine how many
articles are left on the current month on your "My Account Page"
If you would like to save an article on your computer you may do so for
your personal use by going to your browser's file menu and selecting the
"save as" choice. If you wish to save the PDF version of the
same article to disk click on the icon that looks like a little floppy disk on
the top left portion of the window displaying the PDF file.
How to end a subscription
- Click on "My Account"
- If you are not already logged in, login using your e-mail and password
- Then select Manage your
Account
- Scroll to the bottom of the Manage Your Subscription screen.
- Read the instructions under Downgrade Your Account and click where
you are instructed to "click here"

- Click "My account" from the Menu Bar
- click on purchase/download history. history.
- There you will see a list of article you have accessed.
You can re-access the articles for 24 hours that were purchased on a
pay-per-view basis for no additional charge. Those articles will be
highlighted in Blue
Non-registered users
- You may be able to re-access the article by going online.
- Go to your browser.
- Click on history and access each page you access on the day of purchase
from www.iknowledgenow.com.
The URL used to access the article will be good for 24 hours.
